Sauls Collective is a Cary, North Carolina art studio featuring original abstract paintings by Dean Sauls and still life paintings by Tricia Sauls. Together, we create original art for collectors, interior designers, thoughtfully designed homes, offices, restaurants, and professional spaces in Cary, Raleigh, Durham, the Triangle, and throughout North Carolina.
The work we make is very different, but it comes from the same shared life around art, interiors, design, and making things by hand. Dean’s paintings are expressive, layered, and abstract. Tricia’s still life paintings are intimate, direct, and observant. Sauls Collective brings both bodies of work together in one place while allowing each artist’s voice to remain distinct.
Two Artists, Two Ways of Seeing
Tricia’s still life paintings come from a different kind of attention. Her work focuses on fruit, flowers, food, and everyday objects — subjects that are familiar, but not ordinary when they are really looked at. A lemon branch, a pear, a garlic bulb, or a small fish on a plate can become a quiet, focused painting with its own presence.
Dean’s abstract paintings often begin with automatic drawing, mark-making, and movement. There is usually no fixed plan at the start. The paintings develop through layers of acrylic color, drawn lines, scraped areas, covered marks, and decisions made in the moment. The finished work often carries a sense of energy, atmosphere, tension, and change.

For local collectors, buying directly from us can make the process more personal and practical. Depending on the piece, local pickup and local delivery options may be available. For buyers outside the Triangle, select works may also be available for shipping within the continental United States.
